Pyramids Day Tour from Cairo: Prices and What's Included

A private Pyramids day tour is the easiest way to see the Pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx: a car collects you from your hotel, an Egyptologist guide walks you round the plateau, and you are driven back when you are done. Here is how our Pyramids tours differ, what they cost and how to choose.

Which Pyramids tour should you choose?

All our Pyramids day tours are private: just you, your guide and your driver. They differ in how much you see.

TourWhat you seePrice per person (2 travellers)
Giza Pyramids & Sphinx Private TourThe Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple$65
Giza Pyramids, Sphinx & Valley Temple Private TourThe same plateau, at a relaxed pace$71

Short on time? Take the Giza tour. First visit to Egypt? The GEM and Pyramids day gives you the two great highlights in one go. Love history? The all-pyramids day shows how pyramid building developed, from the first step pyramid to the Great Pyramid.

What does a Pyramids day tour cost?

Prices are per person and depend on group size. For example, the Giza Pyramids & Sphinx tour costs $110 for one traveller, $65 each for two and $50 each for three. The GEM and Pyramids tour costs $170, $120 or $95 per person. Every tour page shows the full price table, and we confirm the final price in writing before you pay.

Tips from our guides

  • Go early. Morning is cooler and quieter, especially from May to September.
  • Wear comfortable shoes and bring a hat, sunglasses and water. The plateau is sandy and has little shade.
  • Book the GEM day in advance in the high season (October to April). See our Grand Egyptian Museum guide.
  • Staying in Hurghada or arriving by cruise ship? We also run Cairo day trips from Hurghada and shore excursions from Alexandria, Port Said and Sokhna. See all day tours.
