Road or air?
By road (bus or car) is the budget choice. Hurghada is about 450 km from Cairo, so expect an early start and a late return: roughly 5–6 hours each way. You see a lot, but it's a long day.
By air, the flight takes about an hour each way, so you spend more of the day at the sites and less on the road. It costs more because the return flight is included.
Which one is right for you?
- Best value for a group: the bus.
- Private and flexible for 2–3 people: the car.
- Short on energy or time, or travelling with children or older relatives: fly.
- Love history: fly with Saqqara, to see how pyramid building began.
