Aswan
Three days in Aswan with a night sailing on a traditional felucca: Philae Temple, the High Dam, the Botanical Island and a Nubian village, then sleeping on deck under the stars.
A felucca is a wooden sailing boat with no engine, the way people have travelled the Nile for thousands of years. You sail with a Nubian crew, eat simple meals on board and sleep on deck, moored by a quiet bank.
Nights on the river are cool in winter; bring a warm layer. Philae can be swapped for Abu Simbel at extra cost.
Check in to your hotel. Afternoon visit to the High Dam and Philae Temple.
Board your felucca and sail past the Botanical Island and the granite rocks of Elephantine. Visit a Nubian village, then dinner on board and a night on deck under the stars.
Breakfast on board, sail back and transfer out.
Estimated price per person sharing a double or twin room. Prices are in US dollars.
